About Anchor Bytes

Anchor Bytes was formed to help organizations navigate moments where systems, people, and processes have grown out of sync.

Over time, growth introduces layers—new tools, new expectations, new ways of working. Without someone stepping back to make sense of it all, those layers can quietly create friction, confusion, and fatigue.

We exist to bring steady, experienced perspective into those moments. Not to impose a framework, and not to rush change—but to help leaders see clearly, decide deliberately, and rebuild confidence in how work gets done.

How we approach the work

Our work is grounded in the belief that clarity comes before change.

Rather than rushing toward solutions, we start by understanding how people, systems, and processes actually interact day to day. That perspective allows us to identify where friction is being created, where complexity is unnecessary, and where attention will have the greatest impact.

We work alongside leaders and teams, not above them. The goal is not to take over, but to bring structure, sharpen decision‑making, and create forward momentum that feels sustainable—not forced.

Across every engagement, we prioritize calm progress, practical judgment, and systems that people can trust to support their work.

Scott Muller

Scott Muller is a co‑founder of Anchor Bytes and an operational transformation leader with more than 25 years of experience helping organizations bring order, clarity, and alignment to complex environments.

Scott’s work is grounded in real operating experience. Before founding Anchor Bytes, he served as Chief Operating Officer for a fast‑growing managed services and technology firm, where he aligned service delivery, sales operations, and organizational structure to support sustained growth. Earlier in his career, he was an IT Director for a multi‑site manufacturing and retail organization, leading end‑to‑end modernization efforts across ERP systems, infrastructure, cloud adoption, vendor management, and cross‑department process improvement.

Across every role, Scott approaches each department as a customer with distinct needs and constraints. His focus is not on tools alone, but on how people, systems, and responsibilities fit together in practice. He is known for his ability to step into ambiguous situations, identify where friction is being created, and help teams establish clear ownership, communication, and operational rhythm.

Scott is a U.S. Navy veteran and brings that same calm, disciplined, and mission‑focused approach to his work with clients today. Whether serving in a fractional leadership role or guiding focused operational initiatives, his goal is always the same: to leave organizations working more clearly, confidently, and effectively than when he arrived.

Amy Barney

Amy Barney is a co‑founder of Anchor Bytes and a finance and operations leader with more than 20 years of experience bringing clarity, stability, and decision‑ready insight to complex organizations.

Amy’s work focuses on translating financial and operational complexity into information leaders can actually use. Her background spans FP&A, accounting, audit, treasury, tax, and financial systems, giving her a holistic view of how financial structure supports—or undermines—day‑to‑day operations.

Throughout her career, Amy has partnered closely with executives and department leaders, treating each function as an internal customer with distinct needs, pressures, and constraints. She is known for building reliable reporting, strengthening controls, and creating financial rhythms that allow organizations to move forward with confidence instead of uncertainty.

Amy brings calm precision to fast‑moving environments. Her ability to explain financial realities in plain language, surface meaningful insights, and support sound decision‑making makes her a steady partner for leaders navigating growth, transition, or operational change. At Anchor Bytes, her work ensures that systems, processes, and decisions are grounded in financial clarity as well as operational reality.
